Description

Do you have clothes you never wear because they need a small repair, no longer fit, or simply bore you? Bring them to our atelier in Las Tablas on a Friday afternoon. You will learn to mend them yourself or transform them into something completely new. An in-person workshop in very small groups, guided by the Vikileria Revive atelier team.

An afternoon to rescue your clothes and end the week creating

Rescue Fridays is not a typical sewing class. It is a different kind of Friday plan: three hours to learn, sew and unwind while giving a second life to what is already in your wardrobe.

When you book, you choose your path:
Practical Rescue: learn to mend your clothes

Bring 2 or 3 garments that need a repair and learn to do them yourself:

• Hemming trousers, skirts and dresses
• Replacing a zip
• Sewing on buttons and fixing open seams
• Taking in or adjusting a garment to fit your body

Creative Rescue: upcycling

Turn a garment into a one-of-a-kind piece through the lens of the Vikileria Method:

• Patches, panels and fabric combinations
• New collars, cuffs, sleeves or volumes
• Appliqués fabrics or passementerie
• Turning one garment into a different one

Each Friday we also suggest a creative theme for inspiration, such as “Rescue your jeans”, “The forgotten shirt” or “A touch of author”. You are also welcome to bring your own idea.

• Duration: 3 hours (Fridays, 5:30–8:30 pm)
• Location: our atelier in Las Tablas, Madrid
• Group size: up to 6 people, so everyone gets real attention

What’s included

Just bring your garment and your enthusiasm. We take care of the rest:

• Guidance at the start, to decide together which repair or transformation to make
• Use of the atelier’s sewing machines and cutting tables
• Basic supplies: threads, needles, interfacing and essential notions
• One piece from our Treasure Drawer: special fabric remnants, ribbons or buttons to personalise your garment (more are available to buy in the atelier’s haberdashery)
• Coffee, tea or a glass of vine or beer

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to sew?

No. We adapt the work to your level. If you have never used a sewing machine, we start with the basics.

What should I bring?

A clean garment you would like to mend or transform: trousers that are too long, a jacket with a broken zip, jeans you no longer wear… When you book, we will help you choose the one that best suits what you want to learn.

Will I finish my garment during the workshop?

Yes. We plan the repairs or the transformation so they can be completed within the 3 hours.

Can I bring more than one garment?
For Practical Rescue, yes: bring 2 or 3 garments with different repairs. For Creative Rescue, bring one main garment and a backup.

Can I bring clothes for you to repair?
We do not offer an alteration service. Here you learn to mend your clothes yourself, with our guidance, and keep that skill for life.
